VIVALDI: Form & Hierarchy

VIVALDI: Form & Hierarchy. This project focuses first on the role of composition in the creation of visual hierarchy. Working within a sequence of changing typographic parameters which include typeface & type size; spacing & measurement; weight and scale; visual notation with the role of contrast and color we will practice the synthesis of typography with the consequences of formal decisions.

VIVALDI: Form & Hierarchy. This project focuses first on the role of composition in the creation of visual hierarchy. Working within a sequence of changing typographic parameters which include typeface & type size; spacing & measurement; weight and scale; visual notation with the role of contrast and color allowed me to concentrate on synthesis of typography with the consequences of formal decisions.

First part of the project: one size, one weight, flush left, ragged right or flush right, ragged left

Second part of the project: asymmetric layout (diagonal, vertical &/or horizontal) and changing sizes or weights of the font.

Third part: experimenting with tracking, weight, and all caps to create a texture out of type.

Forth part: Extreme scale.

Final part: Color.
